I bought the van for reasons as everyone (stowaway seats). A day later I notices that the rear door was about 3/4 of inch off to one side, took it back to the deadler to have it fix. The service man said that it was common problem with this model and there was they can do about it. Also I took the van in for wheel alignment they found a bolt missing from one of the front wheel axles.

I did a lot of research prior to buying my minivan. Somehow this thing came up good. I shoudve trusted my instinct and walked away from the dealer. No wonder Chrysler is going under. Like everyone else: 16k- new brakes and again at 31k! I finally did not go to a dealer and found a great mechanic who said Dodge is notorious for it. Chrysler does not stand behind its product. It has been in for TSBs about 5 times. No good when we tote kids. I sunk a lot of money into this thing and I wish it would sink into mud and never be seen again. The only good thing: sto and go is great, it is pretty comfortable, gas mileage not too bad. If I werent so much into debt in it, I would trade it in!

Major repairs starting at 5.5 years and 98k miles is not acceptable. AC died. Front tie rod issues. Constant rattling on every bump - service dept. never finds an issue. Serpentine belt never wanted to be a part of the vehicle. I cant believe how quickly it rusted! Have been driving Fords too, and havent seen that. We had enough.

This is a nice van and is our second Grand Caravan. We bought the Special Edition with a few extras and it has proven to be better than the 02 we had. I have not yet put out on an extended trip, but in town it is getting 18 mpg, which is what I was getting the our 02 on the highway at about 85mph. We just bought a new house and the Stow-n-Go seats came in real handy making several trips and not having to move those heavy seats. The power doors and rear hatch are a nice options to have. I have not even noticed the decrease in horsepower, and the engine sounds stronger. For the money you cant beat this van with features that cost and arm and leg from Honda and Toyota.

Our 2005 Grand Caravan sxt has had to have the air conditioning repaired. We also had to have new plugs and wires and the software upgraded on the computer. It also has a whine around 50 miles per hour.(Dealer has heard noise, design flaw, no fix as of yet) I am very unhappy with this van, we bought a new van, not a used one. This van has been in the shop more than our 96 Ford Windstar was in 9 years.

  • So far, so good - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

We bought our 05 Grand Caravan used with 45,000 miles, replacing a 95 Voyager. So far very comfy, rides nice, and we LOVE the stow n go. Plenty of room for 3 kids. The back row is not as nice as the first 2, esp. if you have long legs. Minor glitches, inc. loose rear vent window and rear A/C blower cutting off - will be taking the van in for those things soon. My mileage is about 16 mpg in the city - 24-25 highway. Id like it to be better, but it still beats the big SUVs.

Great vehicle for the price. Very roomy and comfortable. Ive had to take it in for some minor warranty work (dvd player malfunction and a dead battery) which was disappointing, but no MAJOR problems. Im 64 and fit comfortably in the drivers seat. My wife is 53 and also fits comfortably (we have power driver seat). I have not regretted our purchase of this vehicle.

Has had steering problems a couple times already with a terrible grinding noise. Cheaply made interior, covers break easily. Was told that middle and back seats were interchangeable when buying van, but they arent. Found this out only after lugging out heavy the back seat. No stow-n-go with this van makes it even more of a hassle. Terrible pick up, feels like a truck, cant afford to put gas in it. This van burns gas horribly. I went 30 city miles and it burned a half tank of gas! If I didnt owe so much in this piece of junk Id be trading it in. Im actively still trying to trade it in somewhere. Buyer beware! Dont buy a Grand Caravan!

  • A comfy ride - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

I bought this car for hauling and traveling. It has performed well for both. The only trouble I have had is a frozen wiper fluid line, an automatic side door that is now manual and some trim that hasnt held up to boys. Its not a sexy ride, but it gets me where I want to go safely and reliably.

Excellent vehicle. Fun to drive. Good ride and handling. I bought it new and have 40,000 trouble-free miles on it. I change the oil every 3000 miles, and it uses none between changes. Have taken several trips and get 26 mpg. Would buy another one but would also consider Toyota Sienna. Have added stripes, bug shield and driving lights to make it dressier.
